Raspberry Truffle Delight
During Dessert Week, we are turning delicious desserts into cocktails! First up: the White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Ice Cream from Haagen Dazs!
DESSERTWEEKRECIPES
I don't know about you, but I love sweet drinks. There's something about sugar that brings out the flavours in alcoholic drinks, and I am 100% about it! I wanted to challenge myself and do an entire (business) week on recipes I have made honouring some classic desserts. They may not be classic to you, but they have been around me throughout my life, and I'm hoping that you'll be able to relate!
First up: Haagen Dazs Ice Cream
I would always see Haagen Dazs Ice Cream commercials, billboards, basically any form of advertising you can think about. Not to mention in grocery stores. I even remember reading about it in some of the books I enjoyed during my tweens. When I started making my own money, I ventured out to try this fancy ice cream only to discover that it is ridiculously overpriced! The flavours always sounded amazing though. Bourbon Praline Pecan, Matcha Green Tea, Vanilla Swiss Almond, White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle. I wanted to try them all. But I couldn't bring myself to pay $5 for a 500 mL tub when Chapman's was $5 for 2L! So I continued going without.
This cocktail was the closest I had come to recreating this ice cream flavour until I purchased it purely for this photoshoot. It was quite delicious though. I appreciated being able to try it!
Now, let's talk about how to make the boozy version ๐
Ingredients:
2 oz vodka
1 oz white chocolate sauce
ยผ oz creme de cacao
Float:
- ยฝ oz Chambord
- ยผ oz rhubarb concentrate
Directions:
1. Combine vodka, white chocolate sauce, and creme de cacao in a shaker tin or mixing pitcher.
2. Stir with ice or just stir cold ingredients together if you don't want to dilute your liquor.
3. Pour into a martini glass.
4. Combine Chambord and rhubarb concentrate.
5. Pour over the white chocolate base.
6. If there is separation, use the back of your bar spoon to recombine the ingredients and create your raspberry swirl.
7. Enjoy! And if you make this, share it on Instagram and tag @atwistoflemoncoocktails!
